We are developing a first-in-class antibody therapeutic that restores the heart’s own collateral circulation — a new path to disease modification in heart disease.

We translate three decades of VEGF biology into a new class of disease modifying therapeutics for coronary heart disease.

A team of cardiologists, drug developers and translational scientists.

Mode of action

Selective restoration of collateral vessel growth.

Our antibody, ISM-001, selectively restores collateral vessel growth in the heart when there is a lack of oxygen, leading to healthy vessels where it is needed. The lead indication for ISM-001 is chronic angina and we are currently preparing for first-in-human dosing.

Because perfusion matters

More than nine million people in the United States live with chronic angina.

Many remain symptomatic despite guideline directed therapy. No new anti-anginal has been approved by the FDA since 2006. We are working to change that.
